The Great River Road cuts its way through some of the finest wildlife habitat in the U.S. The rich bottomland forests, bluff-top prairies, flooded timber and vast wetlands are home to a rich assortment of plants and animals.

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois are top destinations for white-tailed deer. Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee offer a mix of upland game and waterfowl. Some of the finest duck hunting on earth can be found in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
