The Great River Road cuts its way through some of the finest wildlife habitat in the U.S. The rich bottomland forests, bluff-top prairies, flooded timber and vast wetlands are home to a rich assortment of plants and animals.
Upland birds, waterfowl and wild game, both large and small, can be found in all 10 Mississippi River States. Hunting has long been a tradition along the Mississippi River. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois are top destinations for white-tailed deer. Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee offer a mix of upland game and waterfowl. Some of the finest duck hunting on earth can be found in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
