COVID-19 and the Great River Road

Tuesday, April 07, 2020

The evolving COVID-19 situation has impacted recreational travel on the Great River Road. Currently, eight states along the route have issued shelter at home orders (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana), limiting recreational travel.

Check states along the route for the latest travel information—you can find links to state contacts here.

Additionally, the majority of facilities (including most Interpretive Centers), and attractions are closed and most public events have been cancelled. Some outdoor spaces, including state and national parks, remain accessible to the public. If you choose to visit a park, please ensure that you follow CDC and state and local guidelines to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
